Robbie leads the Staying On Track and Kickstarter teams. With family strong in culture from both the top western and eastern Torres Strait, he brings dance, song and cultural knowledge into program delivery while supporting young people to set goals and celebrate every win.

What do you enjoy the most about working with young people:

I enjoy working with young people because I get to see them grow in confidence and build trusting relationships. I value being able to walk alongside them as they set goals and celebrate their achievements, whether they’re big or small. What I enjoy most is watching a young person recognise their own strengths and potential and knowing that the guidance and consistency we provide can genuinely make a difference in their journey.

What does culture mean to you:

Coming from a family that is strong in culture from both sides my mum and dad I am honoured and privileged to have learned and is still in my learning journey of both cultures top western and eastern parts of Torres Strait, the culture is strong and has shaped my life journey in many ways. The knowledge, the dancing, and the singing have all become a part of who I am, and now I’m able to pass these traditions on to my family and my kids. It’s something I carry with pride, knowing that our culture continues through the next generations.

What message would you like to share with young people:

Don't be afraid or shame to do something you never done before, always reach to the highest, make friends, have a good laugh, and remember to always respect your parents and elders.
