Promise-Lee is a Māori Cultural Mentor from Aotearoa, based in Cairns for ten years. She builds genuine relationships and helps young people reach goals they once thought were impossible.

I enjoy building genuine relationships and watching young people grow in confidence. Seeing them achieve goals they once thought were impossible, and being someone they can trust and rely on, is the most rewarding part of working with YP's.

 

 Culture is identity, belonging and connection. It’s about knowing where you come from, respecting your ancestors, values and traditions, and carrying those with you every day. I also believe culture is about respecting and celebrating the unique backgrounds and stories of everyone around us.

 

Never let your past define your future. You are capable of achieving great things, and your voice, culture and story matter.
