Cultural Mentor

On Country Cultural Programs · Far North Queensland · Full-time · $25,000 to $52,000

As a Cultural Mentor, you will support Jabalbina On Country programs by helping young people connect with Country, culture and community. You will work alongside experienced Cultural Mentors and community members to deliver meaningful cultural activities in a respectful and supportive environment.

The role involves participating in On Country activities, sharing cultural knowledge where appropriate, supporting participants during programs, and helping create positive learning experiences for young people.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Requirements:

  • Strong connection to Country, culture and community
  • Experience working with young people is desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Respect for Aboriginal cultural protocols and community values
  • Ability to work outdoors and participate in On Country activities
  • Current relevant checks or licences where required
